Position: Quality Assurance Manager
Reports To: Director of Quality Assurance
Position Summary:
The Quality Control Manager is responsible for overseeing the Quality Control Department. This role provides support to the Quality Control Supervisor and Technicians, ensures that the current policies and procedures for maintaining Food Safety and Quality are upheld, and ensures that FDA and BRCGS Requirements are being met.
Major Responsibilities:
- Updates and Implements FSQA programs and policies.
- Ensures Continuous Improvement of the FSQA Program to follow regulatory, GFSI, and corporate standards.
- Ensures Food Safety Culture meets or exceeds regulatory and corporate standards.
- Completes Risk Assessments, Root Cause Analyses, and CAPA’s thoroughly and efficiently.
- Responsible for 2nd and 3rd Party Food Safety Audits (including but not limited to: FDA, BRCGS, Customer specific).
- Oversees daily activities of the Quality Control Supervisor, Quality Control Technicians, and Quality Control Lab.
- Ensures all FSQA SOP’s are up to date and accurate.
- Arranges training and development of the Quality Control Department.
- Holds department meetings to ensure that associates are kept informed of goals, objectives, progress, and policies.
- Responsible for maintaining inventory of lab supplies and equipment.
- Assists in R&D Projects.
- Assists in the commercialization process of new products.
- Ensures Product Specifications are kept organized and up to date.

Education and Experience:
- Must have a bachelor’s degree in food, food science, biology or other related field or a combination of an associate’s degree in food, food science, biology or other related field and at least 5 years of experience in the Food Industry, specifically in Quality Assurance.
- Must have experience with GFSI Auditing schemes, preferably BRCGS.
- Must be PCQI and/or HACCP Certified.
- Computer Skills: Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, creating and editing PDFs. Quick to learn new computer skills and ability to learn new software.
Expected Work Hours:
This is a full-time, primarily first shift position. Must be available during “core” business hours between 7:00AM – 4:00PM. However, this management position oversees 3 shifts, so flexibility to work other shifts as needed is required.
