Responsibilities
Inventory Control & Distribution
- Oversee inventory levels across multiple sites, ensuring adequate stock is available for all distribution locations and pantries.
- Monitor and track the movement of inventory (inbound donations/purchases and outbound distribution) to minimize waste and shrinkage.
- Coordinate stock transfers between the central warehouse and satellite pantries.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, predict shortages, and recommend ordering adjustments.
- Lead Audit Preparation: Serve as the primary support for monthly, quarterly, and annual inventory audits.
- Maintain meticulous records to ensure compliance with food safety standards, grant requirements, and donor stipulations.
- Conduct regular spot-checks and cycle counts at all distribution locations to verify physical stock against system records.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies independently.
- Maintain the accuracy of the inventory database daily.
- Train staff and volunteers at various locations on proper inventory intake and checkout procedures.
- Proactively identify bottlenecks in the supply chain and implement self-directed solutions to improve efficiency.
- Self-Direction: Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Must be able to set own daily priorities and manage time effectively across multiple locations
- Experience: 2 years of experience in inventory management, warehousing, or logistics
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in data entry and inventory management software
- Analytical Mindset: Ability to interpret data, spot anomalies, and solve problems creatively
- Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between pantry locations as needed
- Flowtrac Experience: Prior experience using Flowtrac software is highly desirable preferred
- Experience working in a non-profit, food bank, or grocery retail environment preferred
- Certification in Food Safety (e.g., ServSafe) preferred
- Knowledge of basic office equipment including but not limited to; cell phone, desk phone, copier, printer, computer.
- Demonstrate skills in effectively utilizing Microsoft Office software
- Accurately perform administrative tasks
- Physical exertion includes but is not limited to, bending, walking, and carrying materials
- Good vision, speaking ability, and hearing acuity
- Other jobs specifically, weather conditions, warehouse environment etc.
- Ability to move or lift approximately 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, and work in warehouse environments (including walk-in freezers/coolers) for extended periods
- Work is to be conducted in a warehouse setting and outdoor non-controlled environment as generally represented by normal warehouse and outdoor operations
- Must wear appropriate business attire when interacting with the public
- Must be able to work on a flexible schedule
- Must be dependable in attendance and punctuality
