Biomedical Equipment Technician III (Contract)
Location: Dublin, GA
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Biomedical Equipment Technician III to join our team on a contract basis in Dublin, GA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and calibration of a wide range of biomedical equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform advanced troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on complex biomedical equipment and systems.
- Calibrate and test medical devices to ensure accuracy and compliance with manufacturer specifications and regulatory standards.
- Document all maintenance and repair activities accurately in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Collaborate with clinical staff and equipment vendors to resolve technical issues and coordinate equipment upgrades or replacements.
- Train and mentor junior technicians on equipment maintenance procedures and safety protocols.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements including FDA, Joint Commission, and OSHA standards.
- Maintain an inventory of spare parts and tools necessary for equipment repair and maintenance.
- Participate in equipment acceptance testing and validation for new acquisitions.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or higher in Biomedical Engineering Technology, Electronics, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Biomedical Equipment Technician, with at least 2 years at an advanced or senior level.
- Strong knowledge of medical device technology, including imaging, monitoring, and therapeutic equipment.
- Experience with calibration tools, diagnostic software, and electronic test equipment.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards such as FDA, Joint Commission, and OSHA.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a healthcare environment.
- Certification such as CBET (Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician) preferred.
Work Environment
This position requires working in a healthcare setting, including patient care areas, laboratories, and equipment storage rooms. The role may involve lifting moderately heavy equipment and working with electronic and mechanical devices.
