AgileRank is seeking a dedicated and skilled Biomedical Equipment Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience with equipment repair, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of service in a healthcare environment.

Duties

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on various biomedical equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Utilize schematics to troubleshoot and diagnose issues with medical devices.
  • Calibrate equipment according to manufacturer specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of service activities using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Provide field service support for medical devices, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with healthcare staff to understand equipment needs and address any concerns.
  • Use hand tools effectively for repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Assist in the training of staff on proper use and maintenance of biomedical equipment.

Qualifications

  • A two-year Associate Degree or higher in an applied science or equivalent military training
  • A minimum of five years of hospital or healthcare experience performing medical equipment maintenance
  • Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in equipment repair, particularly in a biomedical or healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and its maintenance requirements is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of schematics and ability to read technical drawings.
  • Experience with CMMS for tracking maintenance activities is advantageous.
  • Proficient in using hand tools and diagnostic equipment for repairs.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with healthcare professionals.
  • BMET Certification a plus but not required.

Additional Qualifications

  • Understanding of regulatory agencies’ requirements, industry regulatory requirements and International Standard Organization standards.
  • Prior experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is a plus
