Aluminum Fabricator

MTM is seeking an Aluminum Fabricator to join our production team at our 240,000 sq ft semi dump trailer manufacturing facility located in Kewanee, IL.

Qualifications

• Technical skills: Proficiency in welding techniques, such as MIG (Metal Inert Gas) and TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas).
• Mechanical aptitude: Understanding of metal properties, welding principles, and equipment operation.
• Attention to detail: Ability to inspect welds for quality and precision.
• Physical fitness: Capable of standing for long periods, lifting heavy objects, and working in a physically demanding environment.
• Problem-solving skills: Ability to troubleshoot welding issues and find effective solutions.
• Safety awareness: Commitment to following safety procedures and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Reading and interpreting blueprints: Understanding technical drawings and specifications to determine the welding process and requirements.
• Preparing materials: Cleaning, grinding, and cutting aluminum components to ensure proper preparation for welding.
• Setting up welding equipment: Selecting and configuring welding machines (e.g., MIG, TIG) based on the specific project and aluminum alloy.
• Welding aluminum components: Using specialized techniques to join aluminum parts together, ensuring a strong and durable bond.
• Inspecting welds: Checking the quality of welds for defects, such as cracks, porosity, or undercutting.
• Maintaining equipment: Regularly cleaning, inspecting, and maintaining welding machines and tools.
• Following safety protocols: Adhering to safety guidelines and wearing appropriate protective equipment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
