About the Role:
San Luis Valley Health Regional Medical Center is seeking an experienced Director of Facilities to lead and manage all functions within Plant Operations, Environmental Services (EVS), Maintenance, and Grounds. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of hospital facilities while supporting quality patient care and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct and indirect supervision of approximately 45 FTEs across Plant Operations, Maintenance, and Environmental Services.
• Lead departmental operations in accordance with organizational policies and applicable regulations.
• Establish clear customer service expectations, staff accountability, and training plans.
• Respond professionally and promptly to employee and customer concerns.
• Oversee maintenance and operations of utility systems including heat, steam, electric power, gas, oxygen, HVAC, plumbing, and boiler systems.
• Ensure preventative maintenance programs are completed according to manufacturer recommendations and industry standards.
• Inspect equipment and facility systems to ensure operational efficiency and safety compliance.
• Coordinate with outside contractors and ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with hospital departments to assess facility needs and implement solutions.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA, OSHA, EPA, CMS, local building codes, and fire safety regulations.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of personnel management experience required.
