Overview
At Mt Hood Eye Care – Gresham, we believe clear vision is the foundation for a vibrant life. We are a boutique, independent optometry practice dedicated to providing personalized, high-quality eye care to our community. Unlike big-box retail optical chains, we pride ourselves on building lasting relationships with our patients. We are looking for a warm, organized, and energetic Front Desk Coordinator to be the face of our practice and the first point of contact for our patients.
Responsibilities
- As our Front Desk Coordinator, you are the director of first impressions! You will manage the daily flow of the clinic, ensuring our patients feel welcomed, cared for, and valued from the moment they walk through the door or call our office.
Your daily impact will include:
- Patient Welcome & Check-In: Greeting patients with a smile, managing check-ins/check-outs, and updating electronic health records (EHR).
- Scheduling: Managing the appointment book efficiently to maximize patient care while keeping the day running smoothly for our optometrist.
- Insurance Verification: Verifying vision and medical insurance benefits (VSP, EyeMed, Blue Cross, etc.) and explaining co-pays clearly to patients.
- Communication: Answering phone calls, responding to emails, and managing patient text confirmations with a friendly, professional tone.
- Billing & Check-out: Processing payments, balancing the daily till, and scheduling follow-up appointments.
- Clinic Support: Maintaining a clean, organized reception area and assisting the back-office or optical team with light administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
We value attitude and reliability above all else, but the ideal candidate will bring:
- Experience: 1 years of medical or optometry front desk experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person with a stellar customer service background (hospitality, high-end retail, etc.).
- Tech-Savvy: Comfort using electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) software and standard office tech. (Experience with [Insert software like RevolutionEHR/Crystal PM] is a plus!)
- Detail-Oriented: Ability to accurately input patient data and decipher insurance details without breaking a sweat.
- Superb Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills. You genuinely enjoy talking to people and helping them.
- Team Player: A positive attitude and a willingness to pitch in where needed to help our small team succeed.
This role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to grow their career in healthcare administration while delivering compassionate patient service in a fast-paced environment. We value energetic team players who thrive on making a difference every day!
