Digital Literacy & Technology Teacher
Franklin County Adult & Community Education
Information: This position provides digital literacy instruction and basic adult education services throughout Franklin County.
Reports To: Director of Adult & Community Education
Qualifications:
- Ability to instruct all levels of students in digital literacy, computer technology.
- Willingness to work with all students in a respectful and supportive manner
- CHRC Approval from Maine Department of Education
- Excellent organizational skills and self-directed
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms).
- Expertise in managing professional email, social media platforms, and remote conferencing tools such as Zoom.
- Demonstrated mastery of Internet navigation and online safety; certified or highly proficient in Northstar Digital Literacy standards.
- Valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation
- Bachelor’s degree and Maine teaching certification a plus, but not required Understanding or willingness to learn adult education and learning theories
Performance Responsibilities:
- Provide in-person computer literacy instruction to community members
- Create an environment that is conducive to learning
- Maintain and manage the Learning Center’s student devices
- Recruit and schedule learners within a short distance of their home/work
- Market the program to the community via facebook and website
- Guide the learning process toward the achievement of established learner goals
- Assess the accomplishments of students
- Assist in the collection of student and program data including attendance, progress, and testing
- Work with remote learning site hosts to provide a safe and clean environment
- Coordinate with other instructors and staff on student progress and goals
- Attends adult education staff meetings, professional development and state training as needed
- Interacts with the public and represents our school district in a professional manner
- Keeps abreast of technical trends, applications and effective practices in technology
- Demonstrate integrity, ingenuity and inventiveness in the performance of assigned tasks
- Offers staff technology support and classroom tech integration as-needed
Terms of Employment:
- Up to 27 hours a week
- School Year (38 weeks)
- This position requires extensive travel throughout Franklin County.
