Digital Literacy/Technology Teacher

Information: This position provides digital literacy instruction and basic adult education services throughout Franklin County.

Reports To: Director of Adult & Community Education

Qualifications:

1. Ability to instruct all levels of students in digital literacy, computer technology. 
2. Willingness to work with all students in a respectful and supportive manner
3. CHRC Approval from Maine Department of Education
4. Excellent organizational skills and self-directed 
5. Strong customer service skills
6. Ability to work independently and in a team environment
7. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms).
8. Expertise in managing professional email, social media platforms, and remote conferencing tools such as Zoom.
9. Demonstrated mastery of Internet navigation and online safety; certified or highly proficient in Northstar Digital Literacy standards. 
10.  Valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation
11.  Bachelor’s degree and Maine teaching certification a plus, but not required
12.  Understanding or willingness to learn adult education and learning theories                                           

Performance Responsibilities:

1. Provide in-person computer literacy instruction to community members 
2. Create an environment that is conducive to learning 
3. Maintain and manage the Learning Center’s student devices 
4. Recruit and schedule learners within a short distance of their home/work 
5. Market the program to the community via facebook and website
6. Guide the learning process toward the achievement of established learner goals 
7. Assess the accomplishments of students 
8. Assist in the collection of student and program data including attendance, progress, and testing 
9. Work with remote learning site hosts to provide a safe and clean environment
10. Coordinate with other instructors and staff on student progress and goals
11. Attends adult education staff meetings, professional development and state training as needed  
12. Interacts with the public and represents our school district in a professional manner
13. Keeps abreast of technical trends, applications and effective practices in technology
14. Demonstrate integrity, ingenuity and inventiveness in the performance of assigned tasks
15. Offers staff technology support and classroom tech integration as-needed

Terms of Employment:

• Up to 27 hours a week
• School Year (38 weeks)
• This position requires extensive travel throughout Franklin County.
