Pay Rate: $58/hour on W2 Benefits
Job Summary
We are looking for a Powertrain Test Engineer – Lab Operations to support Powertrain Testing and Lab Operations at an automotive R&D facility in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
The position will support testing readiness, test execution, laboratory operations, equipment troubleshooting, data analysis, and engineering support for Powertrain R&D activities.
What you’ll be doing
- Test Execution: engine, powertrain, or vehicle chassis dynamometers and emission analyzers.
- Compliance Validation: Verify test results against Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) and certification procedures (such as FTP, HWFE, and US06).
- Data Analysis: Analyze emission outputs, particulate matter (PM), and fuel economy data to optimize engine performance.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose equipment or vehicle anomalies in controlled test cells and environmental chambers
- Support on-site teams to ensure facilities are supporting current and new R&D activities.

Requirements:
What you bring
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of propulsion systems, CFR Emission Testing Requirements,
- Software/Tools: Proficiency with data acquisition tools (Panel 4, ETAS or Hioki) and modeling platforms
What you may bring
- Professional Engineering License (PE)
- Proficiency in reading electrical and mechanical prints
