School Custodian

Schedule:

Monday - Friday

7:00 am - 2:30 pm

Please note: This position requires a fingerprinting and background check through the school system prior to employment. Be able to communicate in English fluently.

Duties

• Perform thorough cleaning of classrooms, hallways, restrooms, cafeterias, and common areas using commercial cleaning equipment and supplies
• Conduct floor care activities such as sweeping, mopping, buffing, and polishing to maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety
• Handle janitorial tasks including trash removal, dusting, window washing, and disinfecting surfaces to promote health and hygiene
• Maintain facilities by performing light repairs, painting walls or touch-ups as needed to uphold the school's appearance
• Operate industrial cleaning machinery safely and efficiently for deep cleaning projects or routine maintenance
• Support general facilities maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, fixing minor plumbing issues, or assembling furniture
• Ensure all cleaning supplies and equipment are stored properly and maintained in good working order

Experience

• Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial, industrial, or residential settings is highly desirable
• Familiarity with floor care techniques including buffing, stripping, sealing, and waxing floors
• Experience with general facilities maintenance tasks such as painting or minor repairs is a plus
• Knowledge of proper cleaning procedures using various cleaning agents and equipment
• Ability to follow safety protocols diligently while operating machinery and handling chemicals
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
• Physical stamina to perform manual labor including lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and climbing ladders
