What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Director, Commercial Finance position at MSH?
We’re partnering with a rapidly growing, international consumer e-commerce company seeking an Associate Director, Commercial Finance to support continued expansion of its U.S. business.
This is a highly visible role sitting at the intersection of finance, strategy, analytics, and commercial operations. The ideal candidate will bring strong ecommerce finance experience, commercial instincts, and the ability to influence business decisions through data-driven insights.
This is not a traditional back-office FP&A role - this person will partner directly with growth, merchandising, marketing, and commercial leadership teams to drive pricing strategy, profitability, forecasting, and customer economics initiatives.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Own and analyze key components of the commercial P&L
- Partner cross-functionally with growth, acquisition, retention, merchandising, and operations teams
- Lead forecasting, planning, and budgeting initiatives
- Drive pricing and promotional analysis to improve profitability and contribution margin
- Build and maintain financial models focused on CAC, LTV, ROI, and customer economics
- Support commercial decision-making through SQL, BI tools, and large-scale data analysis
- Develop scalable reporting frameworks and KPI dashboards
- Influence strategic business decisions with actionable financial insights
Ideal Background
- 7 years in Commercial Finance, Strategic Finance, FP&A, or Business Finance
- Ecommerce, DTC, marketplace, or digitally driven consumer business experience strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of:
- contribution margin
- pricing/promotions
- customer acquisition economics
- CAC/LTV analysis
- Experience supporting commercial or growth-oriented business teams
- SQL proficiency and comfort working with large datasets
- Experience with Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar BI tools
- Advanced Excel / financial modeling skills
- Strong communication and business partnering capabilities
Salary : $180,000 - $200,000
