Position Overview
Reporting to the Vice President of Asset Management, the Senior Asset Manager will play a key role in shaping portfolio strategy and maximizing asset value across a large-scale multifamily portfolio (3,000–5,000 units across multiple MSAs).
This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for asset-level performance, NOI growth, capital oversight, and business plan execution from acquisition through stabilization and disposition. You will work closely with third-party operators, property management leadership, acquisitions teams, and executive ownership to ensure assets consistently outperform projections and align with long-term strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities
Asset Strategy & Performance Execution
- Develop and execute asset-level business plans aligned with portfolio strategy and ownership objectives
- Own performance from acquisition through stabilization and disposition
- Drive revenue growth through rent optimization, leasing strategy refinement, retention initiatives, and concession management
- Identify operational risks and implement corrective action plans in partnership with operating teams
- Present asset performance, risks, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership
- Oversee annual budgeting, forecasting, and reforecasting processes
- Analyze weekly and monthly financial reporting, identifying variances and performance trends
- Conduct detailed variance analysis across revenue, operating expenses, capital expenditures, and cash flow
- Support underwriting and due diligence with operational assumptions and market intelligence
- Evaluate ROI, cash flow management, and capital allocation strategies
- Assess property-level capital needs and collaborate with capital investment teams to develop short- and long-term capital plans
- Evaluate renovation, repositioning, and expansion opportunities to enhance value
- Monitor and manage capital projects to ensure alignment with return expectations
- Support refinance and disposition strategies
- Analyze market trends, competitive surveys, and third-party research to inform pricing and investment strategy
- Perform regular site visits (approximately 25% travel) to assess physical condition, operational execution, and business plan alignment
- Develop strong relationships with third-party operators and resolve operational issues when necessary
- Mentor and support junior analysts within the asset management team
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Business, or related field required
- 5–8 years of multifamily asset management, acquisitions, or senior operational leadership experience
- Experience overseeing large-scale multifamily portfolios (3,000–5,000 units), preferably across multiple major MSAs
- Exposure to mixed-use assets with retail components a plus
- Strong financial modeling skills with advanced Excel proficiency
- Deep understanding of multifamily operations, revenue management, budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning
- Demonstrated track record of driving NOI growth and executing value-add strategies
- Experience with property management platforms such as Yardi, Entrata, or RealPage preferred
- Institutional, private equity, REIT, or owner-operator experience highly valued
- Ownership mentality — thinks and acts like an investor
- Strategic, yet hands-on and solutions-oriented
- Comfortable operating in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment
- Strong communicator who can influence, challenge, and hold operators accountable
- Analytical decision-maker with sound business judgment
