What are the responsibilities and job description for the Referral Coordinator position at MSA Primary Care?
MSA Primary Care is an independently owned Primary Care Practice in Newark Ohio. We are seeking a diligent, dependable, and hardworking Referral Coordinator to join our team! The ideal candidate would be, dedicated, compassionate, have a good work ethic, and excellent customer service skills. This individual will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and a large private practice with over six providers.
Job Duties:
- Monitor incoming emails and voicemails to the referral department
- Calling patients as needed to update on the referral process
- Communicate effectively with the clinical team to obtain all pertinent information to send with the referrals
- Access patient charts, creating referral orders and pulling clinical information to send.
- Handles correspondences from other offices regarding patient referrals and responds accordingly
- Document status updates in charts
- Utilizing websites to complete referrals for those who offer electronic referrals
- Utilizing paper referral forms for offices that do not use the electronic method
- Using and navigating insurance websites to complete pre-certifications including but not limited to; Carelon, Evicore, Health Help, Cohere, UHC, UMR, MedBen.
- Scanning referral information into charts.
