Duties
- Assist with food preparation including chopping, slicing, and portioning ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques
- Support cooking processes by operating kitchen equipment such as woks, steamers, and fryers safely and efficiently
- Follow recipes precisely to ensure consistency and adherence to menu standards
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen area, including surfaces, utensils, and equipment in compliance with food safety management standards
- Help with food handling procedures to ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of ingredients
- Assist in meal assembly and plating for dine-in or catering orders while maintaining quality standards
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth workflow during busy service times
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable
- Experience working in a food industry setting such as restaurants or catering services is preferred
- Knowledge of food safety standards in production environments is essential
