Team Member / Shift Leader

Job Type: Part-Time to Full-Time (25–40 hours per week)
Reports To: Owners and General Manager

About Shaka Kitchen

Shaka Kitchen is a fast-paced, team-oriented restaurant serving fresh tacos, poke bowls, açaí bowls, smoothies, specialty coffee, appetizers, and more. We operate with a small, cross-trained team where everyone contributes to every aspect of the business—from guest service and food preparation to cleaning and maintaining a welcoming environment.

We're looking for dependable team members who are interested in growing with us long-term.

Hourly Pay: Competitive hourly wage plus tips. Team members typically earn an additional $2–$3 per hour in tips.

Position Summary

As a Team Member / Shift Leader, you'll provide exceptional guest service while preparing food and beverages, operating the register, maintaining cleanliness, and helping lead shifts when needed. Every team member is trained to work in all front-of-house and prep responsibilities.

What You'll Do

• Deliver friendly, welcoming customer service
• Operate the register and accurately handle cash and card transactions
• Prepare and assemble menu items including tacos, poke bowls, açaí bowls, smoothies, coffee drinks, and appetizers
• Complete food prep and restocking throughout each shift
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workspace
• Follow food safety and company standards
• Assist with inventory tracking and stocking
• Work efficiently during high-volume service periods
• Support teammates and help create a positive work environment
• Lead shifts and assist with training when assigned

Qualifications

• 1 year of restaurant or customer service experience preferred
• Leadership experience is a plus
• Experience with Toast POS is a plus
• Spanish speaking is a plus
• Strong organizational skills
• Comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• ServSafe Certification is a plus

Physical Requirements

• Able to lift 20–50 pounds
• Able to stand, walk, bend, and move continuously throughout a shift
• Comfortable performing physical work in a busy restaurant environment

Availability

• Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays
• Flexible scheduling based on business needs and yours-we keep similar schedules weekly.
