Job Summary
MS Companies is seeking a Sealer Automation Manufacturing Engineer to support automated coatings and bonding operations for a leading automotive manufacturer in Northern Indiana. This highly visible role is ideal for an engineer with hands-on experience supporting Fanuc robotic sealer systems, automated manufacturing equipment, and process optimization within an automotive environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in improving equipment reliability, product quality, and manufacturing efficiency while supporting production, maintenance, and engineering teams.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of manufacturing engineering experience supporting automated production equipment.
- Hands-on experience with Fanuc robotic sealing systems or automated dispensing/sealing equipment.
- Experience supporting coatings, bonding, sealing, adhesive, or similar automated manufacturing processes.
- Strong troubleshooting skills involving automation, process, and equipment issues.
- Experience with process development, validation, commissioning, and equipment startup.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Automotive manufacturing experience.
- Experience with robotic programming touch-ups or process adjustments.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.
- Experience analyzing production data to improve uptime and process capability.
- Familiarity with controls systems, PLC troubleshooting, or industrial automation.
- Experience supporting new product launches and equipment transfers.
- Ability to develop standard work instructions and process documentation.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Support and optimize automated sealer processes used in coatings and bonding operations.
- Serve as the primary technical resource for Fanuc robotic sealing equipment.
- Troubleshoot automation, equipment, and process issues to minimize downtime.
- Improve cycle times, process capability, quality, and equipment reliability.
- Support equipment commissioning, startup, validation, and production launches.
- Develop process documentation, operating procedures, and standard work instructions.
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, quality, and controls teams to resolve manufacturing issues.
- Train operators and maintenance technicians on equipment operation and basic troubleshooting.
- Analyze manufacturing data to identify continuous improvement opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and manufacturing standards.
