Job Summary
MS Companies is partnering with a manufacturing company in Smyrna, TN to hire a Press Supervisor for a direct hire opportunity on 1st shift. This person will oversee daily activity in the Press Department and help keep things moving in the right direction when it comes to safety, quality, production, and overall team performance.
We’re looking for someone who has leadership experience in automotive manufacturing and understands metal stamping operations. This is a hands-on role for someone who is comfortable being on the floor, supporting the team, working through issues as they come up, and helping drive results in a fast paced environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• At least 3 years of experience in automotive manufacturing
• Previous leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience working in or around metal stamping operations
• Ability to lead employees and support day to day production needs
• Strong problem solving skills and ability to use data and performance metrics
• Basic math and computer skills
• Working knowledge of Excel, including formulas and charts
• Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
• Experience leading in a press department
• Background working with robotic transfer systems
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
• Experience supporting continuous improvement efforts
• Familiarity with root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Understanding of lean manufacturing principles
• Experience coaching and developing production employees
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
• Oversee daily operations within the Press Department
• Support Team Leaders and production employees on the floor
• Monitor safety, quality, productivity, and department performance
• Help address issues quickly and support corrective actions
• Track results and help identify opportunities for improvement
• Reinforce accountability, consistency, and standard work
• Help maintain a safe and organized work environment
• Step in and provide leadership coverage when needed
Physical and Environment Requirements
This role is based in a manufacturing environment and requires regular time on the production floor. Standing, walking, and working extended hours may be required based on production needs.

Salary : $60,000 - $65,000
