SHIFTS AVAILABLE
1st Shift: Monday–Thursday | 6:00 AM–2:30 PM
May work until 5:30 PM as needed. Mandatory overtime and weekends may be required.
2nd Shift: Sunday–Thursday | 6:00 PM–2:30 AM
May work until 5:30 AM as needed. Mandatory overtime and weekends may be required.
JOB SUMMARY
MS Companies is supporting an automotive manufacturing client in Smyrna, Tennessee, in the search for an Assembly Supervisor. This direct-hire position will lead daily assembly operations with a focus on safety, quality, production goals, employee development, and continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate has previous supervisory experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is comfortable maintaining an active presence on the production floor.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
• High School Diploma or GED required
• 2–5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
• Automotive manufacturing experience preferred
• Strong leadership, coaching, and employee development skills
• Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles
• Ability to analyze production metrics, troubleshoot problems, and implement corrective actions
• Strong organizational, decision-making, and communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer systems
• Ability to lead safely and effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
• Previous experience in automotive manufacturing or resistance welding operations
• Experience leading production teams in a high-volume manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of inventory control and production reporting systems
• Experience conducting employee performance evaluations
• Understanding of quality systems, manufacturing KPIs, and cost-reduction initiatives
DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead daily assembly operations to meet safety, quality, efficiency, and delivery goals
• Monitor efficiency, scrap, PPM, and on-time delivery and address performance concerns as needed
• Review production schedules, plan staffing, and ensure accurate inventory and production reporting
• Coach, train, and evaluate Team Leaders and Production Associates
• Investigate safety incidents and quality concerns and implement corrective actions
• Partner with quality, maintenance, and management to improve performance and reduce costs
• Maintain an active floor presence while promoting clear communication and employee accountability
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with machinery, noise, and varying temperatures. This position requires extended periods of standing and walking, occasional material handling, and the use of required personal protective equipment.
Salary : $60,000 - $65,000
