Position Summary
MS Companies is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead quality containment operations supporting automotive manufacturing customers throughout the Central Tennessee region. This leadership role is responsible for customer relationship management, quality performance, team leadership, operational execution, and financial accountability across multiple containment and inspection programs. The Quality Manager serves as the primary customer contact, oversees quality containment activities, drives corrective actions, leads continuous improvement initiatives, and ensures successful execution of customer requirements while maintaining exceptional service levels. This position requires regular travel to multiple customer sites throughout Central Tennessee to support operations, launches, escalations, and customer needs.
Required Qualifications
✔ 5 years of leadership experience in automotive manufacturing, quality, quality containment, or production operations
✔ Proven customer-facing experience managing quality issues, containment activities, and escalations
✔ Strong knowledge of 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, and root cause analysis methodologies
✔ Experience leading containment, sorting, inspection, rework, or manufacturing teams
✔ Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement experience
✔ Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
✔ Proficiency with Microsoft Office and reporting systems
✔ Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout Central Tennesee.
Preferred Qualifications
✔ Automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier experience
✔ Budget, cost control, or P&L management experience
✔ Experience supporting launch containment and customer recovery activities
✔ Salesforce or similar operational management systems experience
✔ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related field preferred
✔ Six Sigma certification preferred
Key Responsibilities• Lead quality containment, inspection, sorting, and rework operations across multiple customer locations• Serve as the primary customer contact for quality performance, containment activities, and issue resolution• Travel to customer sites throughout Central Tennessee to support daily operations, launches, audits, and escalations• Manage customer concerns, corrective actions, and root cause investigations• Ensure compliance with customer requirements, quality standards, and operational procedures• Analyze quality and operational data to identify trends and improvement opportunities• Drive Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives• Manage staffing, operational performance, labor utilization, and program profitability• Develop and maintain strong customer relationships while ensuring service excellence• Support launch containment, customer recovery efforts, and special quality projects.
