Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Leeds, AL
Schedule: 1st Shift, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Salary: $90,000 to $115,000 based on experience
Employment Type: Full-time, Exempt
Work Location: On-site
We are partnering with a leading manufacturer of electrical products and utility solutions in the Leeds, AL area to hire a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer. This role is approximately 75% shop floor and 25% desk work, supporting a high-mix, low-volume operation involving metal fabrication, welding, CNC processing, and assembly.
Responsibilities
- Support daily production and resolve process issues and bottlenecks
- Identify improvements related to safety, quality, scrap, productivity, and cost
- Create and update work instructions, PFMEAs, and control plans
- Support equipment and machining troubleshooting without performing maintenance repairs
- Lead capital projects from planning through installation and production startup
- Partner with production, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and updates
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering field
- 3 years of manufacturing or process engineering experience
- Industrial manufacturing experience with fabrication, welding, CNC machining, or assembly
- AutoCAD proficiency
- Root cause analysis and continuous improvement experience
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Comfortable working directly on the production floor
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship
- Experience manufacturing a physical product is required; transportation or distribution experience alone will not qualify
Preferred Qualifications
- 5 years of manufacturing or process engineering experience
- High-mix, low-volume manufacturing experience
- Utilities manufacturing experience; relevant automotive experience may also be considered
- PLC, automation, and robotics experience
- Lean manufacturing experience
- SAP, Autodesk Inventor, or SolidWorks experience
- Experience with PFMEAs, control plans, or capital equipment projects
