Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Frankfort, IN
Shift: 2nd Shift | 4:30 PM – Completion (end time based on customer demand)
Overview
We are seeking a Controls / Manufacturing Engineer to support our 2nd shift operations in Frankfort, IN. This role serves as the technical lead on the production floor, responsible for maintaining and improving PLC-driven systems (ControlLogix, VFDs, HMIs) while driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume automotive manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Improve and maintain manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Design, implement, and support PLC and ControlLogix programming, including servos, VFDs, hardware, and HMI systems
- Review existing systems and identify opportunities for design improvements based on industry trends
- Test and validate program functionality to ensure reliable operation
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and communicate effectively with internal teams and clients to resolve problems
- Design and develop new assembly equipment
- Plan and coordinate manufacturing processes by developing, evaluating, and improving production methods
- Analyze workforce utilization, space requirements, workflow, and equipment layout
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving, leadership, and teamwork skills
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field preferred
- Previous experience as a Manufacturing Engineer or in a similar role strongly preferred
- Automotive seating experience is a plus
- Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge required
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills
