What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Community Worker - EUPORA HEAD START CENTER position at MS ACTION FOR PROGRESS, Inc.?
Summary: Under the supervision of the Center Administrator, the Family Community Worker will assist in implementing and promoting family wellness and parent involvement programs to support the implementation of the family partnership process. This position operates as a liaison between the classroom and home setting in the areas of education, child development, and mental health. This will be done in a manner that contributes to the child's growth and development, utilizing the best practices for serving infants/toddlers in accordance to state childcare regulations and the Head Start Performance Standards.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, or a related field that includes coursework in the principles of social work, child development, and counseling. Two years of experience in a childcare or family social service environment preferred.
Position requires the ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Access to transportation, and a valid driver's license with proof of auto insurance. All employees must pass a background check before hire.
