JOB SUMMARY
A Sr. Business Intelligence Engineer will be responsible for applying Business Intelligence and Analytics subject matter expertise (BI, reporting, data modeling, and data discovery) to provide the business with the tools and data representations which allow increasing organizational profit and meeting strategic goals. The person will also work closely with internal teams to support and build business insight tools. Will be responsible for converting customer requests into technical details, and ensuring deliverable commitments are met. The candidate should have proven experience developing successful Business Intelligence solutions using the Microsoft BI stack and Tableau.
REQUIRED JOB SKILLS
- Strong hands on experience on Tableau and/ or MSBI stack (SSRS & SSAS multidimensional and Tabular, SSIS) Power BI.
- Data visualization and dashboarding experience (Tableau) required. Ideal candidate should be able to understand that aesthetically attractive data visualizations have the capacity to engage and enlighten a larger audience.
- Experience with Multi-dimensional Cubes, Reports, Scorecards and dashboards using MSBI stack desired.
- Strong experience in T-SQL Development with MS-SQL Server along with performance tuning experience related to reporting queries required
- Knowledge of data warehouse techniques, methods, logging, and dimensional modeling
- Candidate should have experience in analyzing business/data requirements, estimate, and perform data preparation
- Experience in designing and developing business Intelligence and data analytical solutions to delivering insights to business through data
- Problem-solving, documentation, communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage time and projects, work within multiple (Technical/Business) environments, and provide training to end users
- Applying best practices and modern techniques to improve existing schemas for performance and efficiency
- Build strong cross-organizational relationships, working with teams to better leverage data to gain business insights that influence business strategies around XOME products
- Should be able to work independently with client and be proactive on deliverables
- Mentor /guide and train junior team members
PREFERRED JOB COMPETENCIES
- Experience in Perl, R, Python, or another scripting language; command line usage a big plus
- Experience with machine learning, ability to build and release models that elevate the customer experience and track impact over time
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field
- At least 3 years of IT experience in Tableau design and development
- 5 progressive years of strong SQL scripting and Relational Databases experience
- 5 years Business Intelligence / Data Warehouse experience
- 5 years reporting tool experience (MS BI Stack preferred)
- Clear understanding and proven experience in Data Warehouse technologies
- Experience in managing data and analytics programs (people, process, tools) through the full lifecycle: strategic recommendation; design of experiments, testing, communication, pilot, implementation, etc.
- Working understanding of different data and analytical tools and how they are leveraged within an organization
- In-depth knowledge of IT concepts, strategies and methodologies and their application to business opportunities
- Knowledge of developing and maintaining formal documentation that describes the data and data structures including data modeling
- Ability to work with senior technical and business resources providing technical guidance related to data architecture and governance
- Mortgage industry experience is a big plus
