- Solicit vendor quotes and evaluate bids to secure the best combination of price, quality, delivery, and service.
- Create and process purchase requisitions using accurate information provided by field and operational personnel.
- Generate purchase orders and ensure all procurement documentation is complete and accurate.
- Monitor purchase orders through completion and provide follow-up with vendors as needed.
- Investigate and resolve purchase order discrepancies, delivery issues, and invoicing concerns.
- Coordinate resolution of material returns, damaged goods, overages, shortages, and quality concerns.
- Maintain purchasing records, databases, files, and vendor documentation in accordance with company standards.
- Assist with inventory and procurement reporting, tracking, and analysis as required.
- Participate in assigned projects and support cross-functional operational initiatives.
- Communicate with internal departments to support purchasing needs and maintain workflow efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies, procedures, and ethical business practices.
- Support departmental goals and contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Associate degree in Business, Purchasing, Supply Chain, or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 4 years of purchasing experience in MRO, indirect materials, manufacturing, or job-shop environments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook; advanced Excel skills such as pivot tables and V-lookups preferred.
- Experience working within ERP systems required; JD Edwards experience preferred.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer workstation for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Ability to occasionally lift or move office materials and supplies up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to maintain focus and productivity while working in a fast-paced office environment with changing priorities.
