- Perform preventative maintenance (PM) inspections to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently
- Complete post-trip inspections and identify necessary repairs or adjustments
- Replace and repair tires, clutches, and brake systems on a variety of equipment
- Conduct complete engine overhauls including teardown, inspection, and rebuild
- Repair and overhaul differentials, transmissions, and driveline systems
- Diagnose and repair mechanical failures on engines, hydraulics, and support systems
- Perform repair and replacement of bolt-on components and accessories
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair specialized equipment used in operations
- Complete major electrical diagnostics and repairs, including wiring and system faults
- Maintain accurate service records and document completed work
- Support field operations by traveling to job sites for equipment repair when needed
- Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and company standards
- Assist in training and mentoring entry-level mechanics and technicians
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support shop and field operations
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training preferred
- Minimum 3 years of diesel or heavy equipment maintenance experience (technical school may count toward experience)
- Hands-on experience in equipment repair, maintenance environments, and use of diagnostic tools
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment required for mechanical repair
- Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and technical documentation
- Physical ability to lift and carry 50–75 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally with assistance
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work in various positions for extended 8–12 hour shifts
- Capability to work in indoor shop and outdoor field environments, including exposure to weather, noise, and industrial conditions
- Comfortable working around heavy machinery, moving equipment, and hazardous materials with required PPE
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and travel between shop and field locations as needed
