Move Smart Rentals helps property owners get their homes ready for the rental market. Before a property is listed or a new tenant moves in, there’s often a long list of small jobs that need to be completed—and that’s where you come in.
We’re looking for dependable Handyworkers who enjoy solving problems, working independently, and taking pride in preparing homes so they’re clean, functional, accessible, and ready for leasing.
This is a field-based role where every appointment is different. One property may need a lockbox installed, another may need a few maintenance repairs, while another may require a full inspection before it’s ready to be listed.

Your Responsibilities
You’ll help prepare residential rental properties by completing tasks such as:
- Minor repairs and general maintenance
- Property condition inspections
- Lockbox installation and removal
- Replacing HVAC filters
- Installing or replacing smoke detectors, door hardware, blinds, shelving, and other household fixtures
- Repairing minor issues involving doors, locks, faucets, toilets, and similar residential items
- Taking high-quality property photos when required
- Completing digital inspection reports
- Identifying repairs or improvements that may help prepare the property for leasing
- Reporting damage, safety concerns, or maintenance items requiring additional attention
- Managing appointments, photos, notes, and updates through our mobile work app
- Travelling directly between scheduled properties using your own vehicle
Successful candidates will have:
- A minimum of 2 years of paid handyman, renovation, construction, or property maintenance experience
- The ability to complete common residential maintenance tasks independently
- Good judgment when assessing the condition of a property
- Strong attention to detail
- A professional and reliable work ethic
- Reliable vehicle
- Hand tools and basic maintenance equipment
- Smartphone capable of using GPS, mobile apps, taking photos, and submitting job updates
