Our client is an industry-leader in thermoplastic compounding, manufacturing & supplying custom flexible, rigid & clear PVC.
About the role:
The Plant Manager has responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of all manufacturing-related functions and is responsible for prioritizing the work assignments of all Production personnel. Will foster a team-focused work environment to achieve plant and company goals and is also responsible for the growth and development of all manufacturing operations personnel. This includes safety, environmental, productivity, quality, maintenance, continuous improvement, employee relations, and financial performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and coordinate all plant functions including Manufacturing, Maintenance, Quality Assurance, and Process Engineering
- Capital expenditures - Collaborate with other functions to develop the business case and manage the plant capital budget, as well as the delivery of the benefits promised in the business case
- Guide and support the Maintenance department regarding preventive maintenance, repairs and facility improvements and capital expenditures
- Provide engineering support for equipment installations and facility expansion
- Lead and support the development of plant employees and plant succession planning activities
- Develop and execute the plant AOP to improve profitability, productivity and efficiency via process improvements and capital projects
- Actively drive continuous improvement methodologies throughout the facility and plant personnel. Act as a change agent, systematically driving a CI culture.
- Be proactive and responsive to all facets of customer satisfaction including delivery, schedule changes and special instructions.
- Balance customer needs operational efficiency.
- Improve the engagement and satisfaction of the employees. Should be very skilled at change management.
Background:
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline; Chemical or Mechanical engineering degree is preferred. Sufficient experience can stand in for an engineering degree.
- Continuous improvement, lean manufacturing leadership and practical implementation experience required
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in manufacturing plants with a record of impact and of career progression
- The right candidate will be a strong leader, have effective communication skills, will drive execution and achieve results
