Our client is a global Packaging company located in the Belen, NM area.
About the role:
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for building strong relationships internally and provides exceptional HR support to designated locations/departments. The focus of this role will be employee relations, payroll duties, performance management, recruiting & onboarding, and learning & development. The HR Generalist is responsible for championing the company’s employee value proposition and will work as a member of the North American and Latin America North (NALAN) HR team, while supporting the site’s leadership team and employee populations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the generalist to Belen, NM site for all aspects of Human Resources.
- Support all business units at the site to maintain cohesiveness as it pertains to employee relations.
- Attend departmental meetings, liaise with team leaders, supervisors, and managers, and be responsive with advice on coaching, counseling, investigations, disciplines, and terminations.
- Lead recruiting and onboarding activities for the site by providing exceptional candidate experience and attracting quality talent. Responsible for onboarding employees including benefits enrollment and payroll training.
- Support Benefits with leave of absence administration and enrollment for the site; partnering with EHS as required.
- Assist with payroll for the Belen site every pay period which will include time reporting and creating reports.
- Partner with Manager – Talent & Analytics to ensure culture, job fit, and compensation for all level positions within the scope of responsibility and align with business objectives.
- Maintain current and compliant HR Employment laws and regulations.
- Identify ways to increase the quality of the employee experience.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field, or relevant experience required.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English strongly preferred.
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
- Minimum three years’ experience working in HR is required, with specific experience supporting employee relations and payroll required.
- Experience with HRIS systems, preferably Oracle HRMS/Dayforce.
- Experienced in U.S. employment laws.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to coach, lead, and partner with employees across all levels of the organization.
