Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end accounting operations including journal entries, accruals, general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and month-end close processes across multiple entities and programs.
- Oversee cash management, forecasts, prepaid schedules, and reconciliation activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Lead and review intercompany accounting and eliminations, including shared services, payroll allocations, program costs, and overhead distributions.
- Provide variance analysis, budget-to-actual reporting, and financial forecasting to support executive leadership and program decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with DoD cost accounting standards (CAS), FAR/DFARS, and other government contracting regulations.
- Support incurred cost submissions, audits (DCAA/DCMA), and internal control reviews, serving as a primary finance point of contact for auditors.
- Partner cross-functionally with Program Managers, Contracts, FP&A, and Operations to resolve discrepancies and improve financial transparency.
- Develop and maintain financial schedules, reports, and dashboards, including ad-hoc analyses for leadership and government reporting.
- Mentor and guide accounting staff, reinforcing best practices, documentation standards, and compliance discipline.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (CPA or CMA preferred).
- 6 years of progressive accounting and financial analysis experience in high-volume, multi-entity environments.
- Demonstrated experience working in a DoD contracting or government-regulated environment.
- Strong working knowledge of FAR, DFARS, Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and government audit processes.
- Proven expertise in journal entries, accrual accounting, general ledger reconciliations, and close management.
- Advanced experience with variance analysis, budgeting, and forecasting in support of senior leadership.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, financial models, templates, dashboards); ERP system experience required (Deltek Costpoint, SAP, Oracle, or similar preferred).
- Ability to manage complex data sets with exceptional attention to detail, meeting tight close and reporting deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with auditors, leadership, and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently while prioritizing competing deadlines in a compliance-driven environment.
Salary : $110,000 - $125,000
