Duties & Responsibilities
- Build strong relationships with customers through extraordinary service and understanding of the customer's needs
- Actively support operational and product development teams
- Proactively engage with the customer daily concerning the following:
Quoting & Change Management
Price Tracking
Sales Planning
Growth Strategies
Conflict Resolution
- Maintain/increase program operating income by managing sales transactions with the customer, controlling the cost of the value stream, & ensuring that program budgets are adhered to or managed below allotted program target
- Ensure that all disciplines within the program team are aligned with customer expectations
- Expedite all open commercial issues (internal and external) to close
- Obtain targeted business that meets organizational financial metrics
- Collaborate with the internal finance team to develop a financial forecast, long-range financial plan, and day-to-day financial metric tracking
- Focus on the execution of Account Management strategic targets:
Win replacement revenue "must wins"
Reprice / fix underperforming programs with negative margin
Offset to APR / LTA / PTP commitments through VA/VE, CI, and productivity
Align terms and conditions favorable to the company & supplier payment terms
Monitor and support timely accounts receivable / cash management
Ensure timely closure of tooling requirements and payments
- Focus on the execution of Account Management strategic actions:
Increase customer visit frequency
Customer 1st mindset connected to program & MP Q/D
Track and manage program pricing updates from SOP to EOP
Align with VA/VE and CI initiatives
Align to program team and validate pricing/cost assumptions 90 days after SOP
Aligned with product engineering and program management
Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- The ideal candidate has 5 years of experience in a sales role within the automotive industry, supporting both OEMs and Tier 1 Suppliers, ideally in the field of Interiors.
- This individual must have excellent communication skills (verbal & written) with the internal team & external customers.
- Experience in automotive program management requirements and deliverables is expected.
REQUIREMENTS
- Candidates must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree & previous B2B sales experience
- 5 years’ experience in a sales role within the automotive industry
- Strong new business development skills
- Account management experience with an ability to engage in technical discussions with customers/partners regarding product and application uses.
- Travel (up to 25%) to visit manufacturing sites and customers is required.
