Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Stables Supervisor to lead our equestrian operations. This role involves overseeing daily stable management, ensuring the safety and well-being of our horses, and delivering outstanding customer service to our guests. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive experience in horse care, and a passion for creating a welcoming environment. This position reports to the Activities Director and is full-time.
Duties
- Supervise daily stable activities, including feeding, grooming, exercising, and health checks for all horses
- Manage inventory control of feed, supplies, and equipment to ensure optimal operation
- Train and develop staff on horse care procedures, safety protocols, risk management, and customer service standards
- Oversee scheduling shifts for stable staff to maintain smooth operations during peak times
- Scheduling of Ferrier and Veterinary services as needed
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized stable environment
- Monitor hours of use for each horse to ensure proper health and availability
- Handle customer inquiries related to riding lessons, trail rides, and stable services with professionalism
- Coordinate purchasing and merchandising of equestrian supplies to support operational needs
Experience
- Strong riding ability
- Strong communication skills
- Strong customer service experience
- 5 years of equestrian experience
- Some supervisory experience
