Join our team! Monroe Ambulance is seeking a full time Supervisor to join our growing team of frontline staff.

Position Overview

The supervisor will ensure that high quality patient care, safety protocols, positive organizational culture, and documentation standards are upheld by the team of care providers. This position will provide a daily update to the Manager giving an overview of these areas and identifying improvement opportunities when recognized. The Supervisor must behave in a manner that represents the core values of the organization and promotes a positive culture for the crews and co-workers. Outlined below are key categories with responsibilities this position is accountable for in fulfilling the company’s purpose:

Patient Care

  • Remains available to respond to critical calls to assist crews with patient care as needed, providing coaching to front line staff as needed
  • Ensures direct patient care providers are adhering to NYS and regional protocols based on nature of illness and injury (injuries)
  • Monitors for, coordinates, and respond to incidents when additional resources are appropriate

Safety

  • Conducts themselves with focus on safety for self, patient, teammates and the public
  • Keeps current with drive-cam events, responding in real-time
  • Conducts in-field safety audits to ensure providers are adhering to Monroe’s safety protocols, providing real-time feedback/education to providers
  • Investigates any accidents/injuries/incidents that are reported during the shift, submitted to the captain upon completion

Team

  • Represents the company, internally and externally, in a professional manner at all times
  • Is prompt and ready for service at start of shift, in proper uniform, well groomed, clear-headed - setting the example for other team-members
  • Talks with crews on daily basis:
  • Ensure they feel valued
  • Communicate company updates
  • In-service new policies
  • Monitor mental health
  • Ensure adherence to uniform standards
  • Solicit feedback (equipment, suggestions, complaints, dissatisfiers)
  • Checks in with the communication center at the start of shift to communicate the plan for the day; ensures constant communication throughout their shift
  • Ensures compliance with the SSMP or directs the communications center to deviate as needed and when appropriate
  • Proactively manages the experience of all crews on their shift for lunches and can return with enough time to complete EOS duties
  • Ensures crews end-of-shift duties are completed
  • Embody Monroe Ambulance’s Code of Conduct to encourage adoption by providers
  • Promote a culture of teamwork by demonstrating flexibility and readiness to undertake additional tasks as required

Documentation

  • Keeps the schedule updated throughout the day with changes due staffing changes
  • Ensures 100% check-sheet compliance by on duty crews
  • Reviews list of incomplete charts at start of shift and reminds on-duty employees to complete them by the end of their shift
  • Ensures completion of all requested incident reports, vehicle problem reports, and CPS reports are completely by employees during the shift
  • Completes and submits in-field safety audit forms for each employee audited by the end of their shift
  • Completes and submit all investigation reports for all incidents during their shift

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and fumes or airborne particles. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, risk of radiation, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Potential exposure to communicable diseases, blood borne pathogens, and airborne pathogens.
