Description:Senior Wellness CoordinatorCanaan, CTAbout the Position:To provide the ultimate experiential therapeutic experience for each client while maintaining the highest level of safety and enjoyment for each client. In addition, ensure that departmental goals and objectives are met and therapeutic and safety standards are upheld. Your Role:Under the supervision of the Wellness Program Manager, provides bi-weekly supervision to assigned ABC and per diem staff membersAssists with onboarding, 30-60-90 day reviews, and skills-based assessments for assigned staff under the supervision of the Wellness ManagerProvides training on ABC curricula for new staff and supports ongoing professional development for ABC team membersSupports staff in understanding and implementing established SOPsUnder the supervision of the Wellness Program Manager, and in collaboration with the Senior Wellness MBS Coordinator, oversees weekend special programming (CIA and Sweat Lodge) and Weekend Programming as scheduledEnsures appropriate staffing and maintains staff schedules via TeamsIn conjunction with the Wellness Program Manager, provides supervision to assigned CIA staffAssists in Sweat Lodge as neededAssists with CIA coverage on an as-needed basisProvides program coverage for Wellness services as required or requestedFacilitates High and Low Challenge Course activities as neededFacilitates ABC programming (hiking, snowshoeing, teambuilding, horticulture, campfire, group sport) as neededFacilitates spiritually oriented programs as training and experience allowMaintains and revises the 8-Week Educational Curriculum, as assignedDevelops initiatives to support client treatment and rehabilitationDesigns and organizes classes that best address client wellness needsProvides structured curriculum and schedules for all facilitated activitiesCollaborates interdepartmentally to ensure seamless client careInterviews clients, reviews records and documentation, and confers with other professionals to support each client’s Wellness PlanCommunicates with counselors and interdisciplinary team members regarding client progress and needsEnsures accurate tracking of client attendance in Wellness offeringsDocuments and individualizes all group notes utilizing approved Aura procedures by the end of each shiftMaintains an accurate and up-to-date Aura scheduleCompletes all tasks necessary to support a high-quality client experience in a professional mannerContinues pursuing training and professional development opportunities to enhance skill sets and maintain current certificationsQualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent requiredBachelor’s Degree preferred Wilderness First Aid and CPR preferred Challenge Course Certification strongly preferredOther adventure-based counseling experience and/or training strongly preferred Skills and AbilitiesStrong interpersonal skillsStrong group facilitation skillsStrong oral and written communication skillsExcellent organization and time management skillsPhysical fitness level adequate to perform field duties as needed: Hiking and carrying up to 45 poundsMust have basic computer skills including competence in: Software and Internet applications (i.e., Microsoft Office suite, Adobe, EMRs, Teams, etc.)Using and connecting wireless computer hardware, including the ability to project to remote or external devicesHigh level of independent judgment, initiative, flexibility, and problem-solving skills required Ability to give and receive feedback from clients, co-workers, supervisees, and supervisorsAbility to work for sustained periods of time with little supervisionAbility to work collaboratively within the Wellness Department and InterdepartmentallyAwareness and sensitivity to addiction, socioeconomics, and strong cultural competencyCompensation:The base rate of pay for this position is $55,000 to $70,000 per year.
