Get to Know Your Team: 

• Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center is an 820,000-square-foot facility that offers the latest medical programs, cutting-edge technology, and patient-focused care that includes 365 beds, 1,200 employees, and a 27-bed Emergency Room/Fast Track Unit.

• The Unit Secretary is responsible for ensuring the Maternal Fetal Medicine unit runs efficiently.
• Responsible for providing secretarial support for all employees within an assigned nursing unit.
• Demonstrate positive interpersonal relationships with patients, visitors, other hospital departments, and unit staff.
• Coordinate with Care Management concerning admissions, transfers, and discharges, and notify the hospitalist if needed.
• Maintains and updates patients' records for a given unit.
• Perform a variety of general clerical and non-clinical patient duties and facilitate communication.
• Expedite interdepartmental services and comply with and keep records required on the nursing unit.
• Assist the nursing staff in coordinating the activities of the unit.
• Assist with patient care/quality assurance audits.

Job Requirements:  

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent

Preferred Job Requirements:  

• 1-year working as a Unit Secretary in an acute care hospital
