- Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center is an 820,000-square-foot facility that offers the latest medical programs, cutting-edge technology, and patient-focused care that includes 365 beds, 1,200 employees, and a 27-bed Emergency Room/Fast Track Unit.
- The Dental Hygienist performs dental hygiene services for adult and pediatric patients, oversees the dental software management for the dental clinic, and the dental recall system.
- Provide clinical dental hygiene services for adult, pediatric, and special needs patients, including patient education (oral hygiene instruction, nutrition counseling, and patient/parent guidance), periodontal screenings, radiographs, prophylaxis, scaling and root planing as indicated, and sealants as treatment planned.
- Deliver dental hygiene care to developmentally disabled adult and pediatric patients, including appropriate patient management techniques.
- Generate monthly recall lists and assist with scheduling patients as needed to support departmental work-flow.
- Utilize Dentrix software for dental services and assist with updates and daily functionality as needed.
- Support the onboarding of new staff and residents in thDentrixf Dentrix software.
- Maintain and restock oral hygiene patient education materials.
- Assist with ordering and maintaining dental hygiene instruments and supplies.
- Support the maintenance of radiographs and radiographic equipment.
- Provide guidance and share knowledge with residents regarding dental hygiene services when needed.
- Participate in community outreach activities and programs with community partners.
- Record meeting notes for monthly staff and departmental meetings.
- Assist residents and front office staff as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned; responsibilities may evolve over time.
Job Requirements:
- Associate’s degree in dental Hygiene.
- Current Dental Hygiene license.
- Dental Anesthesia certificate.
- 5 years’ experience in clinical dental hygiene.
- BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
- Familiarity with dental software programs.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and work as part of a team.
- Excellent interpersonal skills required
- Bachelor’s degree in dental Hygiene.
