- Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center is an 820,000-square-foot facility that offers the latest medical programs, cutting-edge technology, and patient-focused care that includes 365 beds, 1,200 employees, and a 27-bed Emergency Room/Fast Track Unit.
Responsibilities
- The Transporter will perform a variety of activities related to the transportation of patients, specimens, and equipment. They will greet as well as assist patients and visitors at hospitals and clinics as directed.
- Transport patients from their rooms to various locations.
- Retrieve the proper equipment needed for the transport of patients.
- Complete daily paperwork documenting activity.
- Maintain a safe, healthy working environment.
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families by listening to them and showing compassion.
- Perform all other duties assigned.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- Physically able to transport patients by wheelchairs, stretchers, and/or beds
- Ability to work independently utilizing a beeper
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Heavy pulling, pushing, and lifting are required (50 lbs or more)
Preferred Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
