- Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center is an 820,000-square-foot facility that offers the latest medical programs, cutting-edge technology, and patient-focused care that includes 365 beds, 1,200 employees, and a 27-bed Emergency Room/Fast Track Unit.
Responsibilities
- The Trauma Registrar is responsible for greeting patients, collecting demographic and insurance information, and maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA.
- Registers patients for inpatient, outpatient, or emergency room services and obtains accurate demographic and insurance information.
- Copies insurance cards as required.
- Prepares ID bracelets and distributes them with admission forms.
- Provides patients with information required by federal mandates, i.e., Patient Rights and Responsibilities, and Advance Care Directives.
- Obtains appropriate signatures and copies and/or scans all identification and healthcare coverage presented.
- Documents the reasons if this information is not attainable.
- Communicates all information and financial responsibility to the patient/guarantor.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Preferred Job Requirements:
- 1 year working in medical/and or medical insurance areas.
Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
