- Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center is an 820,000-square-foot facility that offers the latest medical programs, cutting-edge technology, and patient-focused care that includes 365 beds, 1,200 employees, and a 27-bed Emergency Room/Fast Track Unit.
Responsibilities
- The Cook is responsible for preparing food items under acceptable conditions as outlined under state and local regulatory standards and guidelines.
- The Cook will follow all established policies and procedures, and additionally, may be directed by the Executive Chef and/or Director of Food and Nutrition Services, to further assure that quality food services are provided at all times.
- Consistently follow the menu and special diet instructions as prescribed by the attending physician.
- Prepare food according to standardized recipes, therapeutic diets, and cooking schedules to meet mealtime schedules.
- Assist in establishing food service during the production line, etc., to assure that meals are prepared on time.
- Process food items according to diet changes and new diets as received from Nursing units.
- Perform any and all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- Considerable knowledge of sanitation regulations and practices as applied to institutional kitchens.
Preferred Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1 year of experience in institutional food handling.
- Previous experience in a Nursing Home, Corporate Office, Hospital or School setting.
- Culinary school graduate
