An online charter school is now accepting applications for a part-time Special Education Paraprofessional.
Mountain Heights Academy is a tuition-free, online public charter school available to all Utah students in grades 7 -- 12. Founded in 2009, Mountain Heights Academy is the leader in digital education, known for high standardized test scores, unparalleled teacher interaction, and personalized instruction. Coursework is divided into weekly modules, which empowers students with the freedom to complete their assignments when and where they choose within each week.
As a paraprofessional your primary responsibility is to engage with and support Special Education middle school and high school students in their course work. Paras work in a variety of different classes and must demonstrate a firm understanding of the high school core curriculum. We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills since they will be interacting with case managers, team members, and most importantly, the students. Paras need to be detail-oriented, open to feedback, collaborative, self-motivated, and organized. The position is virtual but in-person meetings at the Mountain Heights offices in West Jordan will be required twice a month.

Skills And Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience working with students or being involved in a Special Education setting
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of High School core content subjects (English, Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies)
- Proficient with Google Drive, Google Sheet, etc.
