Pay: The Student Employee Pay Wage Policy can be found on myMount (log in required to view page).
Evaluation Period: Annual performance evaluations if the student works the entire academic year. If the student works one semester, the performance evaluation will be completed after that semester.
Purpose: Assists patrons at the Library Circulation Desk by checking out materials and serving as a first point of contact for library services. There will be on-the-job training.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Check-in and check-out library materials
- Library material renewals
- Accepts money for overdue materials
- Operates multi-line telephone
- Accepts materials to be placed on Library Reserves
- Aids with putting materials on Library Reserves
- Assists with opening and closing the Library
- Assists patrons with directional questions
- Assists with OhioLINK inbound and outbound duties
- Operating computers, telephones, and MFD (Multi-Function Device: Printer, Copier, and Scanner)
- Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled student at Mount St. Joseph University
- Must be Work Study eligible
- MUST be available to work Saturdays
- Early morning, late evening, and weekend availability strongly preferred
- Ability to work on own initiative, independently, and to deadlines
- Well organized, punctual, and reliable
- The ability to communicate sensitively and tactfully, both orally and in writing, with individuals at all levels within the University
- Experience in areas indicated above plus other qualifications and requirements necessary for completion of duties.
