Evaluation Period: Annual performance evaluations if the student works the entire academic year. If the student works one semester, the performance evaluation will be completed after that.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with the review and analysis of Civic Discourse (CWI) data from the Student Life Survey
- Perform data cleaning and organization within Excel, including working with survey responses and student demographic data
- Create pivot tables, charts, and summary tables to identify trends and patterns in student responses
- Support the interpretation of survey data to identify key findings related to student perceptions of civic discourse
- Conduct background research on civic discourse in higher education, including review of articles, reports, and multimedia resources
- Summarize research findings and connect insights to Mount St. Joseph University student data
- Assist in developing recommendations for future programming or initiatives based on data and research finding
- Create visual and written deliverables, including charts, summaries, and a final presentation of findings
- Maintain organized documentation of work, including datasets, notes, and analysis outputs
- Participate in regular check-ins to review progress, ask questions, and receive guidance
- Ensure accuracy and attention to detail when working with data and reporting results
Job Qualifications
- Currently enrolled student at Mount St. Joseph University
- Work Study eligibility preferred
- Interest in data analysis, research, or social sciences (e.g., psychology, sociology, political science, or related fields)
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to think critically and identify patterns or trends in data
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle information with professionalism and confidentiality
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel (experience with pivot tables or willingness to learn required)
- Willingness to learn new tools and concepts related to data analysis and civic engagement
