The Bartender at Mount Pleasant Golf & Country Club is responsible for providing friendly, efficient bar service while helping create a welcoming atmosphere for members and guests. This position supports clubhouse operations by preparing and serving beverages, assisting with food service when needed, maintaining a clean bar area, and contributing to a positive member experience.
This is a part-time position that may require evening, weekend, and event availability.
Key ResponsibilitiesBar Service
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to members and guests.
- Ensure responsible alcohol service and verify age requirements when necessary.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar area.
- Accurately process drink orders and handle cash or point-of-sale transactions.
Member & Guest Experience
- Provide friendly and attentive service to members and guests.
- Help create a welcoming clubhouse environment.
- Engage positively with members and respond to requests in a professional manner.
- Communicate any member concerns or service issues to management.
Food Service Support
- Assist with basic food service when needed, including delivering food orders or assisting kitchen staff during busy periods.
- Help support clubhouse events, tournaments, and social gatherings.
Bar Operations
- Maintain inventory levels for beer, liquor, mixers, and bar supplies.
- Notify management when inventory needs to be restocked.
- Follow all club procedures related to cash handling and point-of-sale use.
Cleanliness & Safety
- Maintain a clean bar, service area, and surrounding clubhouse spaces.
- Follow health and safety standards related to food and beverage service.
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including cleaning, restocking, and securing the bar area.
Clubhouse Support
- Assist with event preparation and service during tournaments, leagues, and private events.
- Support a team environment with other clubhouse staff.
- Represent the club professionally when interacting with members and guests.
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include:
- Previous bartending or food and beverage service experience preferred
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and special events
- Responsible alcohol service awareness
- Dependable, professional, and team-oriented
