Job Summary:
Mount Joseph at Waterville is seeking an experienced and dedicated Evening Unit Manager to join our team. As Evening Unit Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Skilled Nursing Department, ensuring the highest quality of care for our residents. This is a full-time position with a competitive hourly rate of $37 - $45 and a $10,000 sign-on bonus.
Responsibilities:

Execute assignments in a culture that is shared and collaborative across all divisions within MJW
Establish and/or maintain departmental procedures that support the necessary operational functions for the Skilled Nursing Department
Assist in maintaining the department budget, place orders for equipment and supplies as necessary
Determine departmental staffing requirements and assist in the recruitment, interviewing, and selection of personnel for the Community or Department
Monitor department work hours, personnel, work assignments, and ensure proper workflow and adequate staffing levels
Evaluate, develop, mentor, coach, counsel, and discipline department staff
Participate in community surveys and develop a plan of correction for department deficiencies
Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required
Assist in the development of preliminary and comprehensive assessments of the nursing needs of each resident
Ensure that all nursing personnel are in compliance with their respective job descriptions
Attend various committee meetings of the community as required
Assist in preparing written and/or oral reports of the nursing service programs and activities to submit to such committees
Monitor compliance and accuracy in Care Tracker
Responds to emergency situations, gathers data pertinent to emergencies, takes appropriate action, and notifies appropriate parties
Ensure that department work areas are maintained in a clean, sanitary, and safe manner
Assist Director of Nursing with incident reporting and develop appropriate action plans
Maintain a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, MJW Corporate Integrity Program, Code of Ethics, and other policies and procedures
Requirements:
Must possess a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university, or be a graduate of an approved RN program. Bachelor's of Science Degree in Nursing preferred
Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered or Licensed Practical Nurse in this state
Must possess and maintain current CPR Certification
Must have training and/or experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices
Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care
Previous experience working in long-term care or with the geriatric population preferred
Must have 1 year experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital, long-term care environment, or other related healthcare facility
Must lead by example and possess superior customer service skills and professionalism
Flexibility to adapt to ongoing change and work in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment
Interpersonal skills to drive collaboration, commitment, and productivity when working with cross-functional teams, customers, and end users
Self-starter, highly motivated with high energy level
Demonstrates superior written and verbal communication and presentation skills
Basic to intermediate proficiency with Microsoft product suite (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
