Financial Analyst (Hybrid)

Our client, a leading Pacific Northwest utility provider focused on public service and environmental stewardship, is seeking a Financial Analyst for their Vancouver, WA location. This role partners with cross-functional teams to drive financial clarity, ensure compliance with capitalization policies, and support data-driven decision-making. You’ll collaborate with project and program managers to track budgets, analyze variances, and deliver insights across capital, expense, and reimbursable work.

The team serves as a strategic partner to stakeholders, providing expertise in financial planning, cost analysis, asset tracking, and reporting, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, transparency, and continuous improvement.

This position is a one-year renewable contract that includes employee benefits!

Pay Rate: $32.00 - $36.75/hr. DOE.

Location: Vancouver, WA.

HYBRID: 1-2 days/wk. ONSITE.

Key Responsibilities for FINANCIAL ANALYST:

• Perform financial analysis and provide recommendations.
• Maintain and enhance financial policies, procedures, and documentation.
• Analyze work orders and capital project activity to ensure accounting and audit compliance.
• Partner with Project Managers to capitalize assets, assign FERC codes, and manage depreciation and retirements.
• Deliver accurate, timely financial reporting to stakeholders in support of monthly and annual close.
• Manage accruals, reversals, and adjustments in accordance with accounting standards.
• Conduct variance analysis, forecasting, and ad hoc financial analysis.
• Identify discrepancies, recommend corrective actions, and track resolution.
• Collaborate with program and project teams to monitor budgets, forecasts, and cost performance.
• Support recurring financial reporting cycles with a focus on data accuracy and decision support.
• Provide financial guidance and training to cross-functional stakeholders.
• Drive process improvements across financial workflows and reporting.
• Develop reports and presentations to communicate financial insights.
• Maintain compliant financial records in accordance with audit and governance standards.

Requirements/Qualification for FINANCIAL ANALYST:

• BA Degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Accounting, Business Mathematics or a closely related technical field is preferred.
• 6 months of direct work experience in a financial analysis capacity, including all aspects of project support/analysis is required
• 6 months of experience in the following:
• Financial forecasting
• Working knowledge of automated data systems (i.e., ERPs like PeopleSoft and Asset Suite).
• Running queries, generating reports to support management, troubleshooting, and resolving issues in an automated environment.
• Researching data anomalies, evaluating information gathered (sometimes from multiple sources), and reconciling data conflicts.
• Excellent verbal and written skills sufficient to provide ongoing training and updates to managers, stakeholders, and other customers
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License is required.
