What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bike Mechanic position at Motivate?
Motivate is looking for experienced Bike Mechanics to assist with all aspects of bike assembly, maintenance, and repair. Training in technical and unique aspects of bike share bikes will be provided.
About the role
Must be flexible and willing to switch between working indoors at one of our bike repair depots or outdoors in the field according to our day-to-day needs
Complete bicycle repairs and inspections in a professional and timely manner, with a focus on safety
Adhere to a set schedule and report for work as assigned
Keep detailed, accurate records of repairs using a smartphone
Maintain compliance with standard operating procedures and repair methods
Maintain prompt, clear, and consistent communication with management, especially when in the field
Responsible for maintaining well-stocked and organized repair tools and other supplies
About you
You have experience using hand, air, and power tools
You are dependable; reliably maintaining a schedule and showing up for your assigned shifts on time
You easily follow instructions from management, communicate frequently with the team and solicit feedback from others to improve performance
You have proven technical and mechanical aptitude
You actively seek creative solutions, ask questions, and continuously seek to improve all aspects of shop operations
You can do activities that may require bending, kneeling, squatting, stooping, lifting to 75 pounds
