Our client is a leading manufacturer and distributor based out of El Paso, TX. They are looking to hire a Buyer on a contract basis to optimize their material planning and production scheduling processes.

You'll interact daily with suppliers, production teams, and planners, gaining valuable hands-on experience in material flow management and cross-functional collaboration. Contract Duration: 6 Months Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Business from an accredited institution
• Experience with Material Requirements Planning (MRP), ERP/SAP, production scheduling, and inventory management
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Technical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities

• Background in materials management and methodology
• Ability to resolve conflicts and provide direction to multiple groups
• Continuous improvement mindset
• Experience with SAP is highly desirable
  
  

What You Will Be Doing

Tech Breakdown

• MRP exception management in SAP
• Inventory and supply chain analytics via Excel
  
  

Daily Responsibilities:

• Execute daily MRP exception messages
• Manage the flow of materials between supplier and plant
• Ensure materials availability for production
• Expedite purchase orders and address crisis shortages
• Conduct monthly vendor forecast reviews and open order reports with suppliers
• Adjust MRP planning parameters (safety stock, lot sizes, lead times, etc.)
• Quarterly review of replenishment strategies (Kanban, ROP, or MRP)
• Interface with planners and schedulers
• Follow up on SAP planning order exceptions (past due, expedite, push out, cancel)
• Publish daily finished goods production plan and resolve order barriers
• Coordinate with kitting and upstream teams regarding material issues
• Convert planned orders to production orders as required
• Review missing parts and prepare, release, and organize orders for production
• Monitor production schedule attainment
