Key Responsibilities
- Project Leadership: Direct all phases of air emissions testing, including defining project scope, coordinating equipment, and managing field activities.
- Personnel Management: Lead, train, and mentor a test crew of up to 12 people, including Test Technicians and Engineers, to ensure overall program efficiency.
- Client & Regulatory Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and act as their representative in communications with state and federal regulatory agencies.
- Technical Excellence: Compose test protocols, proposals, and final reports; review project data for irregularities; and ensure compliance with all USEPA Reference Methods.
- Safety First: Promote and enforce a strict culture of safe work practices and environmental compliance at all times.
Position Requisites
- Education & Experience: A Bachelor of Science in a technical field (or equivalent experience) and a minimum of 3 years of direct experience with air emissions testing methods.
- Certifications: Must hold Qualified Individual (QI) and/or Qualified Source Testing Individual (QSTI) certification for Group V.
- Technical Mastery: Comprehensive knowledge of EPA Reference Methods (including 1-5, 6C, 7E, 10, 25A, 320, etc.) and the ability to process lab samples and titrations.
- Skills: Strong mathematical aptitude, computer literacy (MS Word/Excel), and the ability to operate specialized test equipment and hand tools.
Physical & Logistical Requirements
This is an active, field-based role that requires:
- Heights & Stamina: Ability to climb ladders on smokestacks potentially as high as 450 feet and work at elevated levels for extended periods.
- Strength: Capacity to lift and carry up to 85 pounds and manage heavy equipment in extreme weather conditions.
- Travel: A valid driver’s license and the flexibility to travel/drive for extended hours to meet client needs.
- Compliance: Ability to pass drug screening
