Job summary:
As a member of the Design Liaison Engineering (DLE) team, you will be an active contributor to the Gas Turbine Engineering organization, providing mechanical engineering support to our global supply chain partners.
As part of the DLE Annular Hot Gas Path team, you will variously types of annular fleet turbine components such as blades, nozzles, heat shields, etc., and will primarily be responsible for analyzing and dispositioning hardware deviations.
This is a hands-on role requiring collaboration with engineering teams, suppliers, and factories to ensure hardware quality and fulfillment, while helping to solve some of the biggest challenges we face in manufacturing these complex gas turbine components and assemblies.
Responsibilities:
- Apply mechanical engineering fundamentals to solve various manufacturing issues on hot gas path hardware for gas turbines.
- Leverage analytical tools to analyze and deliver solutions for deviant hardware and provide design support to prevent repeat incidents.
- Own hardware redesign efforts by revising drawings to enhance manufacturability.
- Act as technical focal for qualifications of new processes/changes, and second source suppliers.
- Conduct technical reviews of design tasks and help assess risks at the component, assembly, and system levels.
- Follow standard work and design templates for common issues and contribute to the improvement of design and manufacturing processes or methods.
- Ensure adherence to technical standards in design activities, maintaining quality and accuracy.
- Apply basic knowledge of gas turbine design to support improvements in part functionality and cost reduction.
- Foster a positive work environment, supporting a culture of quality and urgency in collaboration with the supply chain team.
Qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Prior experience with gas turbines, aerospace engines, or complex rotating machinery is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles
- Proficiency with CAD software
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes (casting, machining, welding, coatings, etc.) and their impact on design.
- Experience with process qualification and supplier technical evaluations.
- Effective communication and ability to work with cross-functional teams (design, manufacturing, suppliers).
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining technical quality.
Salary : $45 - $59
