The Supervisor, Sunset Pool, is responsible for overseeing daily pool and food & beverage operations at the Sunset Pool area to ensure a safe, clean, and exceptional guest experience. This role supports the Manager, Sunset Pool by providing frontline leadership across pool operations, bar service, and guest-facing amenities. The Supervisor ensures service standards, safety protocols, and operational procedures are consistently followed while assisting with staff supervision, guest engagement, and food & beverage service execution.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees daily pool and food & beverage operations at the Sunset Pool under the direction of the Manager, Sunset Pool.
  • Supervises pool attendants, bartenders, servers, and support staff to ensure proper staffing, service flow, and operational coverage.
  • Ensures food and beverage service standards are followed, including timely service, presentation, cleanliness, and guest engagement.
  • Monitors bar and poolside service activity to ensure compliance with ABC regulations, Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) training, and internal policies.
  • Assists with opening and closing procedures for pool and bar operations, ensuring all checklists, cash handling procedures, and security protocols are completed.
  • Supports inventory controls by monitoring product levels, assisting with stock rotation, and reporting shortages or variances to the Manager, Sunset Pool.
  • Enforces pool rules, safety regulations, and resort policies to ensure guest and employee safety at all times.
  • Acts as a point of contact for team members during assigned shifts and escalates operational, safety, or guest service concerns as appropriate.
  • Engages directly with guests to support high-quality service, resolve concerns, and enhance the overall pool and dining experience.
  • Ensures cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of pool, bar, cabana, and service areas in compliance with health department and safety standards.
  • Coordinates with Facilities, Security, and Food & Beverage teams to address maintenance issues, spills, equipment needs, or safety hazards.
  • Assists the Manager, Sunset Pool with training, coaching, and onboarding of new team members on service expectations, safety procedures, and guest standards.
  • Supports special events, promotions, and high-volume periods at the pool and bar areas.
  • Maintains accurate shift documentation related to incidents, attendance, guest concerns, and operational needs.
  • May be required to work outside their normal operations during off season
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position has direct supervisory responsibility over pool and food & beverage staff during assigned shifts. The Supervisor provides leadership, guidance, and performance feedback and reports directly to the Manager, Sunset Pool.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to resolve guest concerns professionally.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and coordinate staff in a high-energy, outdoor pool environment.
  • Knowledge of beverage operations, inventory control, and cash handling procedures.
  • Familiarity with service standards, health regulations, and alcohol service laws.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in a fast-paced, guest-facing role.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in a bar, restaurant, or poolside food and beverage environment.
  • At least 1 year of supervisory or lead experience overseeing bar or service staff preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of beverage service standards, cash handling procedures, and responsible alcohol service regulations.
  • Experience supervising staff schedules, training team members, and supporting daily operational needs.
  • Excellent guest service, communication, and leadership skills required.
  • Verify guest identification for alcohol service and follow all ABC regulations, RBS training, and internal policies.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:

Must have successfully completed a background check and obtained a gaming license issued by the Morongo Gaming Agency, as required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Must be able to read and interpret documents in English, such as instructions, guidelines, policies, and procedures. Must also be able to communicate clearly and effectively with team members, management, and guests.

  • Communication Skills: Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with guests and team members in a fast-paced, outdoor bar environment, including giving instructions and resolving guest concerns.
  • Lifting and Carrying: Frequently lifts and carries bar supplies, ice buckets, beverage cases, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Manual Dexterity: Regularly uses hands and arms to handle glassware, prepare beverages, operate POS systems, and manage cash and receipts.
  • Mobility: Constantly moves throughout the pool deck and bar area, including standing, walking, bending, reaching, and navigating wet or uneven surfaces.
  • Stationary Work: Occasionally remains stationary while completing administrative tasks, inventory, scheduling, or reporting.
  • Tool Operation: Regular use of POS systems, handheld radios, bar equipment, cleaning tools, and standard office equipment; may also assist in minor maintenance or setup tasks.
  • Visual Acuity: Requires clear vision and hearing to monitor guest activity, ensure safety, read orders, and respond to verbal cues in a noisy environment.
  • Working Conditions: Regularly works in an outdoor pool and casino environment with exposure to high noise levels, varying weather conditions, and a smoking environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This is a dynamic, fast-paced environment that requires the ability to adapt and perform under pressure. The casino operates with moderate to loud noise levels and is a smoking environment, requiring team members to work comfortably in these conditions.

WORKING HOURS:

Morongo Casino Resort & Spa operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year; therefore, flexibility in scheduling is essential. Team members must be available to work shifts that may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events. Schedules are subject to change based on business needs and may include overtime, as well as work on both weekdays and weekends.
